Trekking in Nepal

Most of the visitors coming to Nepal come for the Himalayan treks. There are treks designed to suit all kinds of itineraries, budgets, and tastes.

You can opt for short treks for just a few days, with minimal luggage and (for the intrepid explorer) no guides. On the other hand, you can try out the more arduous longer routes with guides and porters for support.

Trekking in Nepal can generally be divided into 2 categories – camping treks and tea house treks. Tea house treks follow an established trekking trail, which means there are clusters of tea houses at periodic intervals for refreshments, food or even to stop over for the night. Camping treks mean you carry your own camping gear (or your porters will carry it for you), including all necessities such as cooking stove, food and water.
